In hospitals, our International Patient Unit, the purpose of our holiday from foreign nationals or living in Turkey was established as a department providing services for patients. Our unit has an experienced staff and provides service in English, German, French, Russian and Romanian languages.
The Lokman Hekim Esnaf Private Hospital opened as a private hospital in 1997 but moved in January 2012 to a new purpose-built building. The new site offers expanded and improved services to Fethiye and the surrounding areas.
The staff of the Foreign Patient Department comprises a Medical Director, a tourism doctor, a manager, an assistant manager and 11 officers. The role of the department is to support and help both inpatients and outpatients in any way needed including translating for doctors and nurses, especially at twice-daily ward rounds, and liaising with foreign insurance companies wherever policies allow a direct claim from the hospital.
The staff of the department are provided by the hospital expressly to assist any non-Turkish patients whether they are on holiday or living locally. English, German, Russian, Romanian, Dutch and French are spoken.
The department provides a full team and a 24 hour service during the main tourism season from 1 May to 31 October with a reduced team during the rest of the year when the department is staffed during the day but has an emergency call out service for all other times.
