He was born in 1953 in Zonguldak where he completed his primary, middle and high school education. He graduated from Bursa Medical Faculty in 1978, he then completed his military service in Ankara Mamak and Malatya centres in 1980. He started his specialty in Neurosurgery at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital in 1986 becoming qualified in 1991. Temporarily he was assigned to Fethiye as a Neurosurgery Consultant in 1991 then he began his compulsory service in Adıyaman State Hospital. In 1996 he began working for Kütahya State Hospital, then Balikesir Edremit State Hospital in 1997, from which he became retired in 2011. After his retirement he occasionally worked for private hospitals.
