He was born in 1952 in Burdur. He completed his primary school education in Başpınar Village, then his middle and high school education in Burdur. In 1972 he began to study at Ege University, Faculty of Medicine, graduating in 1978 as a general practitioner. In 1978 he began to work as a physician in Bayat Health Clinic in Afyon. After his second year there, in 1980 he began his national service in Istanbul with the rank of second lieutenant. In 1982 he continued for 18 months as a physician at Kayseri Hacılar Health Clinic. After this he went to Erciyes University Medical Faculty’s Childrens’ Health and Diseases Department as an assistant. After five years specialist training he went to Diyarbakır State Hospital as Head of the Childrens’ Clinic. In 1989 he continued as a paediatric consultant at Muğla State Hospital from where he retired in 2006. He went to work for six months in Ereğli, Konya, at a private hospital. He has been working at Lokman Hekim Esnaf Hospital since March 2007.
